This is the second in my series of weekly Firefox Extensions - Picks of the week. To reiterate, I maintain the Top Firefox Extensions as a point of reference for anyone looking for great and useful extensions. But, there are extensions that might be useful for a specific purpose to our readers and may not make it into my list. So, my weekly posts will talk about extensions I come across and the ones I am currently trying out.

In the past week, I have come across a variety of Firefox extensions. Let’s talk a little bit about them:

Locationbar2 - Great extension for adding emphasis to various parts of the URL in the location bar. It lets you configure various options for highlighting the domain name and parses the link. You can also click on different parts of the link to move up a directory structure. Also, decodes an encoded URL (with percent symbols) for readability. A must have in a webmasters tool box. Personal Menu - If you are a laptop user and would like to save some browser real estate, you might already be using TinyMenu. It does a great job of letting you customize what you see on the toolbar but Personal Menu takes this to the next level and lets you create a custom button with only the menu options you want to access frequently. A must have for usability. [via Lifehack.org]

Cache Viewer: This extension is GUI Front-end of “about:cache”. Allows searching and sorting memory and disk cache files. I think this is very useful if you download a bunch of images and looking for them via your cache as this shows you an image preview. [via danieltome]

StatusBar-Ex: Shows some useful information on statusbar of Firefox, such as the memory usage, network speed, and more! If you like playing with extensions, this could show the difference in Firefox memory/cpu usage before and after installing an extension. Easier than going to the task manager to get this info and useful at times but not a must-have.
