The good folks at Portable Electronics Ltd, a New Zealand based electronics distribution company has built an amazing massive spreadsheet with all known Android devices!

The kind souls have shared this spreadsheet as a publicly available Google Docs spreadsheet.

The Android devices are separated based on the year of their release with the ‘Android mobile phones 2010’ as the first tab. You will even see other categories where Android is in use such as Netbooks/eBooks, PMP/MIDs, TV & even Cars.

The spreadsheet has information on processor, architecture, frequency, ROM, RAM, Internal memory, dimensions, weight, touch screen, 3G and a dizzying array of information about the devices.

TeuxDeux was popular for its easy to use AJAXified interface. It worked just like an online paper calendar. You can easily add tasks to certain dates on the screen. Each task gets scratched off as you are done. You can also move tasks by drag n drop.

TeuxDeux has undergone some nice changes since we look at it last earlier this year and added some new features.

Task management has gotten easier . We have a nice fast forward button to click and go a week ahead. Or you could pick a calendar frame to look at. A nice touch is an organizing column for your ‘Someday’ tasks so you can add non-dated tasks.

It looks like their search engine is actually powered by ITA Software’s Matrix engine. It also powers most of the major deal hunting websites such as Orbitz, CheapTickets, and lot of airline agents’ tools as well.

If you wanted to skip all the ads and additional promo’s built into these interfaces, you can directly go to the Matrix engine.

Matrix is no fancy pants and actually offers a no-frills interface to find flight deals. It is fast and gets you the fares almost instantly.

You enter your departing from and destination locations. Then you can enter exact dates or you can choose to see a calendar of lowest fares available. (best option to find the best deals)

Then you choose your length of stay and you get a flexibility of 7 days. You can start your search now or choose the More Options. Here you get to select the type of seats, number of stops, check seat availability, sales city, etc.

Once you hit go, it brings up a calendar (if you chose that option) of lowest fares with the lowest fares highlighted in Orange. You just hover over to see the number of nights and the date of return for that fare.

On the right of the calendar, you will see the airline with the lowest fare in Orange as well. Plus, you can filter the results by unchecking certain airlines if you have such preferences.

The interface may look bland but it has all the AJAX goodness that updates the data as you check and uncheck boxes on the fly. It worked blazing fast.

You can also click the Show Flights to see a listing of airlines and flights with timings. This view had a couple of interesting details for me. I could pull down the More Details link to see detailed flight timings. Also, it has an ‘Advisory’ section that warns you of overnight flights, long layovers, or even warnings like missing connection will lead to significant delays. I haven’t seen such information elsewhere.

Another surprising fact was that with international travels i have only been able to get good deals with a travel agent. In fact, I just bought the tickets from an agent for our upcoming travel and was surprised to see Matrix show me the same prices I got from an agent in the same airlines!

Next time around though, when I call my agent I have solid information of fares/itinerary available and compare the rates they offer. It is highly likely my agent uses the same Matrix software!

It looks like I couldn’t purchase directly from ITA’s software and I have option of calling my agent or the airlines to book the ticket!

Next time you fly, give ITA’s Matrix software a try before you jump on to other websites. You could have some solid information real fast without the bloat!

I still recommend Kayak for its amazing interface and it covers flights, hotels and rental cars! I will be adding Matrix to the best travel sites I frequent.

Passpack works great on all major browsers but the web interface is very hard to use on smaller mobile smartphone screens.

Passpack has unveiled a mobile interface and it is delicious! But, before you complain about the little bugs there remember it is still a work in progress.

Here is what you can do right now

• Go to https://m.passpack.com and sign in.
• View, add and manage your passwords
• Send secure messages and read archived messages
• View and (partially) manage your shared users and groups
• Update most of your account settings
• Setup your mobile favorites (from desktop) and they will be unpacked as you login
• By default, it won’t unpack anything except mobile favs
• Select unpack all or choose a tag to unpack.

Here are a few things Passpack is still working on

• Sending & receiving passwords via email encryption deactivated
• Bulk edit & group management
• Better navigation
• A new cool way to access Passpack without the long packing key

Machinarium is an amazing point and click adventure game playable on Windows, Mac or Linux.

In an effort to prove a point, Machinarium developers – Amanita Design from Czech released the game without any DRM restrictions. You can install the game without any serial numbers or online authentication.

This makes the game so easy to copy and be pirated.

Sadly, the game developer is saying that Machinarium has only 5-15% of players who actually paid for the game.

Amanita Design in an attempt to give a second chance for those 85-95% of players who haven’t paid for the game has announced a ‘Pirate Amnesty’ sale.

Machinarium and its soundtrack is available for a mere $5 with 75% off from its original price of $20 until August 12. They are hoping the game pirates will make amends buy purchasing it at this low price.

However, this amnesty sale doesn’t apply to just who already have a copy but also to anyone interested in this game.

I played the online free demo and was totally amazed by the creativity behind this point and click adventure game. $5 for such an amazing experience is nothing, IMHO.

Once you provide a Twitter username or a hashtag or a topic, Paper.li will analyze that user and their followers and present the Twitter feed in an interesting format just like a daily newspaper.

When you do this for the first time, it could take some time for it to import you and your followers and process that information. Once done, it is automatically updated every 24 hours.

Gmail makes up for its dull look and feel with powerful functionality to handle the email volumes of this day. But, as most Gmail users I have multiple Gmail accounts and it is a pain to switch between them. I hate to have to logout of one account and login to another just to logout and log back in again.

This can get extremely tiring if you have to do this dance multiple times a day.

Of course, I used the cool Gmail Greasemonkey scripts that lets me switch between multiple accounts but it didn’t always work across all of Google’s services.

Google has finally brought this functionality natively in its core products. The first account you are signed in becomes the default account for the following Google products

• Gmail
• Reader
• Calendar
• Code
• Sites

Curiously, support for Google Docs is missing at the moment. Let’s look at how to enable this.

1. Go to Google Accounts page https://www.google.com/accounts/b/0/ManageAccount
2. Click on the Change link in Multiple sign-on

   

3. Read and check the boxes shown in picture and save changes.

   

Go to Gmail and refresh the page and you will a dropdown next to your email address at the right top side.

Choose sign in to another account to add multiple email logins.

As noted in the warnings, make sure you understand you can’t use offline access with this enabled. Also not all Google products support this. With this enabled, make it a habit to check that you are working on the desired account.

Also, it doesn’t look like this support extends to Google Apps either.

I have tried different productivity tips and task managers online and offline but never really got a good grip on it.

I have finally gotten down to listening to David Allen’s Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity book on Audible. I am 1/4th through the book and I am really committed to trying out this system and see if it helps me. I’ll write more about it in the coming weeks. It was a mistake though to try using a GTD based task manager without fully understanding the concept.

But, in the meantime I came across this article titled “How to Rebuild Attention Span and Focus” on Lifehacker. This screamed ‘please read me’ at me as that is exactly my problem is. My attention span is so bad that I sometimes mindlessly switch between my Firefox or Chrome tabs.

I get ‘zen-like’ concentration only while I am working under dire circumstances, like when a server is down or a site is down, etc. Other times you don’t even want to know.

The article goes in depth on a lot of good points and you can read them there.

What caught my eye in the article was ‘the Pomodoro technique’.

What is Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique™ is a way to get the most out of time management. Turn time into a valuable ally to accomplish what we want to do and chart continuous improvement in the way we do it.

Francesco Cirillo created the Pomodoro Technique™ in 1992. It is now practiced by professional teams and individuals around the world.

As simple as it sounds just in a few days of trying out this method I feel like I have accomplished a lot with so much better concentration than I have in a while.

How to implement Pomodoro Technique?

1. Choose a task to be accomplished
2. Set the Pomodoro to 25 minutes (the Pomodoro is the timer)
3. Work on the task until the Pomodoro rings, then put a check on your sheet of paper
4. Take a short break (5 minutes is OK)
5. Every 4 Pomodoros take a longer break

I started using a 10 minute timer instead of a 25 minute timer with 2 minute breaks. I intend to keep increasing this pomodoro. In fact, I found in a couple of instances that I kept going for 2 or 3 sessions without a break when I could concentrate on the task at hand like that.

I also find that listening to a lyric-less music helps with focus.

Pomodoro Software

The pomodoro timer could be as simple as a kitchen timer to something advanced like a desktop timer software that lets you enter notes and track your progress later.

In fact, there is even a PomodoroTechnique Timer Google Group where you can find references to timers for various platforms such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, iPhone apps, Symbian apps, etc.
