Wow, this is exactly what i was looking for. I have alot of political pictures and i was trying to find a place where i could upload them and have them embedded on my site so i could save bandwidth. I wouldn’t have even known Oosah existed if it wasn’t for your post. Thanks!

How on earth can you call this a “great service” and then note that you haven’t uploaded anything yet? You haven’t even used the service!!! How can you recommend something that you haven’t used at all? This is like buying a car, making sure it is comfortable to sit in, and then recommending it to people without ever having driven it.

I am ready, willing, and able to believe that oosah is great, but comments like yours are preposterous. Don’t appluad (or condemn) an online storage service until after you’ve uploaded AND downloaded.

I also signed up. It is a really great service. I indeed connected my picassa album in just 30seconds. I did not upload anything yet, as I have some bandwidth issues.

I recently signed up with filesavr. They were giving away free premium accounts of their service. But their service has been terrible so far. Everything is broken. I guess they cant handle all the extra users…..

This oosah service looks promising. I will definitely sign up and use it for backups….

@ #14 Martina: Agreed that a good service would be worth paying for (it actually makes me more comfortable). I use ElephantDrive which has been very effective, mostly because it comes with automatic online backup built in so I don’t have to actually remember to do anything. We would love to use this storage as a backup for our company files.
It seems to be a bargain, but we’ll have to check them out thoroughly though.
Even at $10 a month it would be worth it.

I must be slipping behind with technology – what the heck is a terabyte? Bigger than a gig? I am always looking for file storage too – I may have to check this one out, you really wrote a convincing review, even if i don’t know how big a TB is!

Thanks for the link and for sharing. It all boils down to online security , encryption analysis proves that most data stored online are more than likely to be assessed by a third party, especially sensitive data.

Obviously, if you want it to be private, you don’t upload it. Online storage is more about being a convenient alternative than a replacement for local file storage.

But if you think about it, the primary reason to use it is _not_ for the storage space, but rather the convenience of moving things around between local, oosah, flickr, picasa, and youtube (for me anyway).

That’s an awesome offer and I’m going to try it. I’m thinking download movies or whatever media, and watch it over my 3G network instead of fumbling with the SD card.

I love online storage. If you travel much, this gives you so much peace of mind. You never have to worry about your hard drive being lost, stolen, or damaged. I wouldn’t recommend doing it only. I still have a back up hard drive that I carry with me, but it is very handy at times (usually when I didn’t think I would need it).

I would be nervous as hell about this offer. If I can’t figure out how the company could possibly stay in business, I don’t trust them with my files. I use a different service (for pay, though it is pretty inexpensive) and I spoke with a customer service person before paying.

I’m just wondering – if you get all your important files and stuff stored there and they change the terms and you don’t want to accept the terms, what do you do? Move everything off? I think I would feel better with some type of written agreement that could be counted on.

Cool, thanks for the pointer. It does seem too good to be true, which would make me hesitant to sign-up. Wouldn’t want to become reliant on it, then they switch it to a paid-for service
