ShanKri-la RSS subscribers – Please read

First of, I would like to apologize to those who have been annoyed in the past 2 days by the partial posts in ShanKri-la feed. If you wondered if I have switched from full posts to partial posts, the answer is NO. I have no intention of forcing anyone to click over to my site from your feed reader. Ever.

I had an episode of my feed completely breaking a couple of days back. I managed to get it working again but I am still at a loss in figuring out why the feeds switched to partial posts. I have the Full Text Feed plugin installed and something is still messed up. I had read that Feedburner sometimes caches feeds and it might take a while for the full posts to show up. But, I haven’t had any luck with that either.

I have been checking WordPress Support Forums and looking at possible reasons for this breakdown. I appreciate your patience and hope to have this restored as soon as possible.

    Sorry to hear you’ve been having problems.

    I believe that your feed wasn’t even working at all in my feed reader for a few days (GreatNews).

    Sometimes when changing code on your site it can mess up things. Were you making any changes? If so, do you have any old saves you could use to “restore”?

    Kyle.. the only changes I have been making are some basic CSS changes.

    Anyways, I have turned of Full Text Feed plugin and installed Better Feed plugin. I have managed to get full feed working for the http://www.shankrila.com/feed . But, the Feedburner feed is still showing partial feeds. May be it is a cache issue and it might start showing up fine.

    But, I have the Feedburner Feedsmith plugin turned off at the moment, so anyone reading this can grab my ShanKri-la feed for now to get full feed.

    It appears that everything is working fine now. I see the full feeds in Google Reader. :)

    Sometimes as Kyle said, any changes in the site can cause this problem or accidentally you switched to partial feeds.

    Yay. I was able to fix it last night and I’ll write an update post today on how I fixed the issue. It might help someone out later.

    Basically I had to point Feedburner to http://www.shankrila.com/feed/rss2 instead of the old http://www.shankrila.com/feed/rss. Not sure why the other one stopped working, but atleast this works now. :-)
