Need an API to your bank, credit card data? Wesabe provides it even if it is indirect.
Who/What is Wesabe?
Wesabe is money management in a true web 2.0 sense. You have a secure place to manage your money online with great tools like tagging transactions, charts, etc. Plus, you get the benefit of the collective tips and discussions from the community of Wesabe users around it.
Let’s say you shop at Meijer’s in a Michigan store. So are other Wesabe users and if they have posted tips for saving money in Meijers, Wesabe will show you those tips. It is more localized, more useful and more targeted. That’s just a gist of it.
In Wesabe’s own words:
We want to take the idea of a credit bureau (where businesses report their experiences with consumers so that other businesses can benefit) and turn it on its head — building instead a value bureau, where consumers can share their experiences with businesses, so all consumers can benefit.
Wesabe has so far provided tools to upload your financial data from bank, credit cards, etc. to manage, analyze, budget your finance online. Now, with the new API to the data online, you indirectly have an API to all your bank, credit card & financial data.
Why would I need an API?
- You might be a hardcore Excel user and are not satisfied with the reports/charts available with Wesabe. Now, you can download your data and do whatever it is that you do with Excel.
- Love another application? Just use Wesabe as a filter to get to your financial data in a manageable form. And Wesabe doesn’t mind it. In fact, they encourage it by releasing this API.

If you are in the market for a Wireless Router, you might be in luck. I just ordered this today and will be using this to track my shipment.
Buy.com has a TRENDnet TEW-432BRP - 54Mbps 802.11g Wireless Firewall Router for $9.99 after a $30.00 mail in
rebate. If you open a new Google Account and use Google Checkout, you can get $10.00 off which means you get this literally for free and with free budget shipping. Now, I call that a sweet deal. You have to purchase this before June 25, 2007 to get this deal.
The reviews for it are pretty good as well, so for the price I’m going to give it a try. Would you?

Tips make our lives easier. Tips are bite-sized words of wisdom passed on to other people in the hope that it might benefit few other souls. I will pass on to our readers whatever tips that I find myself using in day to day work around the house.
Here are a couple of starters that I learnt from my friends:
- Fresh smelling microwave: Take a bowl of water with a couple of pieces of lime in it and heat it for 5 minutes. Take a towel and wipe the insides of the microwave. Voila! Clean and fresh smelling microwave..
- Fresh smelling carpet: Take a small ball of cotton and put a few drops of scented oil. Drop it in the vacuum bag and vacuum the carpets! You’ll love the lingering fresh smell in the carpet for days to come.
I stumbled across this site Tipnut.com with tons of tips that the author has saved over the years! Learn a few tips and make your everyday chores a breeze! Don’t forget to share some of your own tips in the comments here..

Everyone has heard of the sheep clone, Dolly. But have you ever heard of a Recipe clone? Todd Wilbur from Top Secret Recipes does just that. He clones recipes from popular restaurants like Applebee’s, Olive Garden and others. Check the site out for a complete list of recipes.

There are numerous sites on the web that claim to have these recipes but this site claims to have nailed the recipes down. The recipes look pretty impressive and I am about to try out a few in the coming weeks. This “Bang Bang Shrimp” looks yummy and I’ll let you know how it turns out shortly.
One little note about this site: not all the recipes in the site are free but the new recipes are free for a week. You can subscribe for an alert to know when there is a new recipe on the site.
