Foxmarks Bookmark Sync for IE & Safari

Tech for Life

Foxmarks is one of the best Firefox extensions out there. Foxmarks lets you create a profile at Foxmarks.com and foxmarkssyncs your bookmarks across any number of Firefox browsers on various computers you use.

This means you can seamlessly bookmark in one computer at work and come home to find it and go to the site you want. In fact, you can even create different profiles for work, home, etc and see just those bookmarks depending on where you are.

Foxmarks is now available for Internet Explorer as well as Safari. But, it does not offer password syncing in IE & Safari, just bookmarks. And if you used your own server to store bookmarks & passwords with Foxmarks, you can’t do that either in IE/Safari.

iPhone users get sync for Mac Safari.

I tried this out in Internet Explorer and found it to work seamlessly!

Cool, I was looking for a replacement for the discontinued google bookmarks synchronizer. I now use Del.icio.us, but I just might switch again.

    Do people still use bookmarks?

I use a few when at work….but then we’re still on Windows 2000 and IE6!

At home, I either add page links to my own links page I have on my website or find sites from Twitter links or RSS reader.

I always found that bookmarks just got out of control and ended up with hundreds of them that I never actually used.

It will make our job easy if it is through the IE. Every one have the IE loaded in the system and we can load the Foxmarks even.

    hi K,
Thanks. I don’t use my laptop very often, but when I do, I email links to it so that I have them. I had no idea this service existed. But then again, I only switched to Firefox from the IE dinosaur a few months ago, so I’m not exactly “cutting edge.” :) Thanks as always. Steve, the slow-to-adapt trade show guru

I have been using foxmarks for quite some time. Sure beats having to back everything up yourself. I can switch from my laptop to my desktop without missing a beat!
