Zoho Notebook offers an excellent alternative to Google Notebook.
Even though I have proclaimed Evernote to be the best alternative to Google Notebook, Zoho sure beat Evernote to the race in providing an import tool to get your Google Notebook content across easily.
I am sure Evernote will follow suit shortly. But, I was curious to give the Zoho import tool a try. Zoho was named at ReadWriteWeb as one of the best successful startups from India. Naturally, I had to give the import tool shot and share it with you.
How to import Google Notebook to Zoho?
You can do this import very easily in just a few steps.
- Install Zoho Notebook Helper Firefox extension
- Once installed, login to Zoho Notebook (you can even use your Google login)
- Also login to Google Notebook.
- Go to this url chrome://zoho-notebook/content/g2z.html
- Hit the Start link
- That’s it.

Then I just refreshed my Zoho Notebook page and there it was. All my Google Notebook content in Zoho Notebook!
Since, it was a clean slate in my Zoho account, it was easy to import. But, it would be nice to provide an interface to pick and choose where you want to import your notes if you already have some sort of organization in Zoho Notebook.
I am intrigued by the Zoho Notebook interface as there are plenty of options that I don’t see in Evernote. If you have used Zoho & Evernote, I would love to hear the differences and why you prefer one over the other.
In fact, I plan on reviewing Ubernote as well in the coming weeks as was recommended by Joshua Ho of Ubernote.
